FEPS Young Academics Network

About

The FEPS Young Academics Network was established in March 2010 with an aim to gather promising progressive PhD candidates and young PhD researchers ready to use their academic experience in a debate about the Next, Progressive Europe. Realised with the support of Renner Institut in the framework of the FEPS “Next Left” Research Programme, the project has gathered throughout the years more than 350 members – many of whom are today Professors of Renown Universities, Prominent Experts in their respective fields and Front Bench Politicians. Their exchanges and interdisciplinary research at the time of their involvement have resulted in a number of stimulating studies, providing a relevant contribution to the European progressive movement.

“FEPS YAN helps me to transform philosophical ideas into applicable theories and policy proposals. I have met amazing people that gave me support to enhance my skills as an academic, and I also grew as a person because of the diversity in our group”

“I have enjoyed quite a lot the opportunity to learn from some of the best. At each seminar I learnt new things for my PhD, for my FEPS YAN project, for my local political engagement, and for life in general”

“FEPS YAN is a remarkable opportunity for me to apply my academic skills into progressive politics. It also gave me a lot of fun to spend a great and productive time with my FEPS mates during the dark times of pandemic”

“FEPS YAN has been an incredible opportunity for me, both professionally and personally. Not only has it provided me with valuable knowledge, new friendships and outstanding network opportunities – it also gave me an entirely new connection to the field of political science. By allowing me to apply my research on Social Europe to concrete policy development, FEPS YAN enabled me to bridge theory and practice in a meaningful way and gave me a platform to contribute to the ideal of a better Europe”
